Almond Croissant from Balthazar Bakery

Balthazar Bakery in Soho is a small off-shot of the wildly popular Balthazar restaurant next door. They make fantastical baked goods which carry the appropriate bloated Manhattan price tag.

I picked up this beauty on my way to work, it was soo buttery and flaky. Inside was a layer of almond paste which was smooth and sweet. The almonds that sat on top were toasted giving them a good crunch.

Paying $3.25 for one croissant is pretty ridiculous. I don't know, nothing witty to say about that, its just pretty ridiculous, well, at least it was grub.
